5th Cavalry, (65th Regiment), Company Guidon. The 5th cavalry, also known as the "Cameron Dragoons", organized in late summer 1861. It was composed of men from Philadelphia, Delaware, Lycoming, Allegheny, Venango counties, as well as some men from New Jersey. The company guidon was captured at Williamsburg on September 9, 1862, and was returned to the Commonwealth in 1889. The regiment was mustered out of service in August 1865.

5th Cavalry, (65th Regiment), State Standard. The 5th cavalry, also known as the Cameron Dragoons, organized in late summer 1861. It was composed of men from Philadelphia, Delaware, Lycoming, Allegheny, Venango counties, as well as some men from New Jersey. The state standard was presented to the regiment sometime after December 1861. The flag was captured September 9, 1862. In 1889 the state standard was returned to PA. The pre-1862 un-marked red and white guidon was captured at Williamsburg on September 9, 1862, and was acquired by the War Department in 1865.
